About Marjorie Lloyd Waluye

Marjorie Lloyd Waluye I am a retired teacher of history and political science looking to move to either southern Africa or East Africa. I have BS in history and political science, with an emphasis on International Affairs. , I hold a Masters in Public Administration. I began my adult life as an anti apartheid activist and continue to work to enhance life for African Americans in my community. To this end I have launched several non profits. I worked on the development of new schools in New York City and am currently engaged in the development of The Get Out Foundation, a community building organization that will support families who wish to provide supplemental enriichment for their children. We believe that the lack of resources and awareness causes a gap in achievement and to lessen this divide, it is essential for our children to gain the necessary exposure and learning experiences. For at least 25 years I have served as an educator in New York City Secondary schools. During my tenure I taught Global History, Participation in Government, Economics, and Advanced Placement - US Government and Politics. I have chosen early retirement in order to pursue my passion which is the development of people of African descent. I am certain that I hold a unique skill set that woud be as asset to any organization. I am a life long learner and an active traveller.
