Tchibozo Sverin The Centre de Recherche pour la Gestion de la Biodiversité (CRGB,www.crgbbj.org) is a non profit nongovernmental organization subject to the First of July 1901 Act. The centre was founded July 15, 1996 under the name Centre de Recherche pour la Gestion de la Biodiversité et du Terroir (CERGET). In order to ensure transparency, we left the centre and founded the CRGB in October 2010. The CRGB was registered under reference number 2011/0006/DPT-ALT-LITT/SG/SAG–ASSOC dated 06-01-2011. It has completed numerous studies of an environmental nature such as fauna and flora inventories, nature conservation and management plans, etc. in many French speaking African countries. Over the years, the centre has accumulated a wealth of experience in entomology, the preservation of cultures, integrated pest management programs, sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. The CRGB cooperates with several African and overseas research and development institutions such as : the French Global Environment Facility (FGEF) ; the Van Tienhoven Foundation in the Netherlands the French Foundation for Research on Biodiversity (FRB) ; la Coopération Sud Sud in Costa Rica; the International Organization of la Francophonie (IOF), Agricultural Research for Development (CIRAD) ; the Pesticides Initiative Programme (PIP) of the Europe-Africa-Caribbean-Pacific Liaison Committee ; the International Commission for Food Industries ; the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris (MNHN) in France ; the Royal Museum for Central Africa in Belgium, and others. One of the CRGB’s main objectives is the pursuit of research and development in the field of tropical biodiversity.
