About Garumma Tolu Feyissa
Garumma Tolu Feyissa Dr. Garumma Tolu Feyissa is a research fellow in Dornsife School of Public Health, Drexel University. He is passionate about expanding evidence-based policy making in health and social care through evidence-based research and teaching. He holds PhD in Evidence-based Healthcare from the JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute), University of Adelaide.
Dr. Feyissa has worked in various academic and administrative positions in Jimma University and other higher educational institutions in Ethiopia., including associate professorship position in the department of Health, Behaviour and Society. He has diverse research experience ranging from qualitative and quantitative research to systematic reviews, best practice implementation, guideline development, evaluation, and contextualization of evidence. He has published several research articles in internationally reputable journals.
His research interests include equity and disparity in health, knowledge synthesis and translation, population dynamics and health policy. Garumma has utilized combination of various research techniques to enhance evidence generation, synthesis and translation. His current work at Drexel University focuses on demographic transition, adolescent reproductive health and urban health in sub-Saharan Africa. As an as accredited trainer of the JBI, Dr. Feyissa has been mentoring and training researchers based in universities and research centres on comprehensive systematic reviews and best practice implementation projects.
