The Trans-Atlantic slave trade would not have been possible without the cooperation of African leaders who exchanged slaves for trade goods. Prior to and during the slave trade, the ancestral lands of African Americans were establish with their own government, and official agents of African Kings conspired and overthrew these government and sold the people into slavery. Therefore, African Kings were bound by the actions of its agent. This was an internationally illegal act and many of today’s African Nations admit that they acted illegally under international law, but an admission is not enough. We should also seek a partnership with the African Union Commission.
