Council of Ghanaian Nationals Associations in Italy, COGNAI Council of Ghanaian Nationals Associations in Italy (COGNAI) The Council of Ghanaian Nationals Associations in Italy (COGNAI) was established in March 2003 at Vicenza by 12 provincial Ghanaian Nationals Associations spread through out the length and breadth of Italy. Precisely they were made up of the Ghanaian Nationals Associations (GNA) of Vicenza, Verona, Brescia, Pordenone, Udine, Milano, Novara, Bologna, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena and Rome. Now this Umbrella Organization has under it?s Body 28 GNAs, including some Ghanaian ethnic Organizations and some Ghanaian Religious groups. Mission: The mission of the COUNCIL OF GHANAIAN NATIONALS ASSOCIATIONS IN ITALY (COGNAI) is to harness the collective and individual Ghanaian human resources all over Italy under a well defined leadership so as to give correct guidance and direction thereby enhancing these capacities and abilities of individuals and tune them into useful tools in this modern multiethnic Italian Society. COGNAI also works towards giving the Ghanaian immigrant in Italy a befitting and just identity that is endorsed by his culture, custom and tradition, forestalling his Ghanaian and African origin, a base from which orientation he can be better recognized and appreciated in this multicultural society.
