With nearly 61 years of independent nationhood, as the first country in Sub-Saharan Africa to gain its independence, Ghana is blessed with abundant human and natural resources; a proud and dignified cultural diversity; with a united and vibrant people, living in a peaceful democratic society. Ghana (once called the Gold Coast), is rapidly developing, with an enviable economic growth, a vigorous re-building and strengthening of institutions of governance, a free media, in an open and transparent society.
As one of the first countries in Africa to establish diplomatic relations and development cooperation with Canada, Ghanaians and Canadians have shared long-standing bonds in the Commonwealth of Nations and, indeed, share a common National Day of July 1st. The Ghanaian diaspora in Canada is substantial and well-endowed with professionals and business people who engage actively in the development of Canada and their home-land, Ghana.
As our President is working to grow our economy and open opportunities for all our citizens; to build an economy that is not dependent on charity and handouts; to build a Ghana which looks to use of its own resources; to build an economy that looks past commodities, in order to position our country in the global marketplace; We in the mission are poised to assist the President build a Ghana Beyond Aid and to act as catalyst for mobilization of foreign direct investments into Ghana.
Ghana's climate for investments is favorable and we invite Canadians and other nationals living in Canada, as well as Ghanaians in the diaspora to make Ghana the investment destination of choice.
Our website is one of the instruments to engage our partners in Canada and the Ghanaian diaspora in sharing information and extending consular and investment support services.

ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY
The government's vision is to prioritize the development of economic opportunities in our foreign policy, by opening up markets abroad for Ghanaian goods and services and attracting foreign investments. An important task of our diplomatic missions will be to link our businessmen with foreign counterparts in strategic alliances and partnerships to develop the private sector, and to market the country as an attractive destination for foreign investment. The Ministry will facilitate linkages between Ambassadors and High Commissioners and MMDCEs with the view of maximizing investment and trade opportunities for local authorities.

On 31st August 2017,the President of the Republic of Ghana H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo officially launched the Economic Trade and Investment Bureau (ECTIB) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and lauded the efforts of the Hon. Minister for MFARI initiative aimed at positioning the Ministry as a strategic partner and player in the pursuit of government's vision of Ghana Beyond Aid . His Excellency stressed that
"several examples abound around the world of how advanced economies have leveraged effectively the tools of Foreign Policy to secure the well being of their peoples. This has been done with the aim of increasing trade, foreign direct investments, tourism, technical cooperation, education, health, agriculture and the transfer of technology. The Economic, Trade and Investment Bureau (ECTIB) is indeed a welcome and timely addition to facilitate further investments, domestic and foreign to Ghana "
Against this backdrop our Mission is required to play a catalytic role in the mobilisation of foreign direct investments into the country in the areas of:
- Infrastructure
- Manufacturing
- Agro-Processing and
- Technical and Vocational Education
Our Mission is further expected to intensify our efforts in support of national objectives of diversifying our economy and increasing Ghana's export base, through active participation in the global value Chains.
PUBLIC NOTICE
1. All Ghanaian Pensioners in Canada are kindly requested to visit the website of the Controller & Accountant General’s Department of Ghana (www.cagd.gov.gh) for the completion of the CAP 30 Pensioners Head Count Forms for GOG Foreign Staff. Completed and endorsed forms together with relevant documents must be submitted to this Mission for onward transmission to the Controller & Accountant General’s Department in Ghana.
2. All investors who desire to register their companies in Ghana online should visit www.rgd.gov.gh
3. The general public is hereby informed that the Mission charges only processing fees, (but not administrative fees) for all visa which fees are found on the visa forms available on our website www.ghc-ca.com.
4. Please note that working hours of the mission is from 9 - 3pm each working day, but 9 - 2pm for consular services.
5. CONSULAR MATTERS CHANGES
* Dual Citizenship requirements and guideline.
* Effective April 1, 2018, old visa forms will cease to be valid. New forms are available for download.
6. If you are a permanent resident or a refugee and you are convicted of the offence of impaired driving in Canada due to marijuana or alcohol abuse, you will be deported without appeal. Please Be Advised Accordingly.
7. Members of the Ghanaian Community are hereby notified that from 31st March 2019, Passports and renewals shall be for a duration of Ten(10)years and no longer Five(5) years.
8. The Ghana High Commission hereby notifies the general public that Margaret Adu has been appointed Honorary Consul,her Consular District covering City of Calgary and the Provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, with full authority to perform Consular Services including issuing of Visas and accepting Applications for renewal and issuing of Ghanaian Passports. Her full contact details will be published soon.I call upon all to receive and honour her as such.
9.
