INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION FOR DALIT RIGHTS INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION FOR DALIT RIGHTS The ICDR mission is to strengthen the capacity of Dalit civil society to promote peaceful social change by facilitating the advocacy, knowledge sharing and networking needed by providing technical assistance, engaging international community and diaspora, and incentivizing Dalit civil society networks. The First Global Conference on Defending Dalit Rights 2015 and the Global March against Caste-based Discrimination 2014, both organized by ICDR, built a network of more than 250 Dalit civil society and Diaspora groups committed to establishing Dalit rights as human rights by 2020. The global conference recognized caste and other forms of discrimination and inequality as key challenges to establishing equal rights, freedom among and between caste-affected societies.
