Global Innovation Exchange Global Innovation Exchange The Global Innovation Exchange is a global online marketplace for innovations, funding, insights, resources and conversations, allowing the world to better work together to address humanity’s greatest challenges. BETA Activation In April 2015, the Global Innovation Exchange activated its BETA, or initial website. We are inviting groups of innovators, funders, and others to join the Exchange to start using the site and harnessing its power to support innovation. Based on online community best practices, during this BETA phase, much of the site will constantly change and improve based upon user demands. Joining the Exchange during this phase means that you will have a chance to shape the future functionality of the Exchange to meet your needs. We look forward to partnering with you on this exciting innovation. The Exchange Goals The Exchange aims to further democratize modern development. Everyone is welcome on the Exchange. By connecting innovators with the resources, funding, people, organizations, programs and information they need to grow, test, and scale their innovation, the Exchange supports the development and use of innovations that improve lives around the world. The Exchange Identity The Exchange is brand agnostic and innovation agnostic. Everyone on the Exchange is equal and brings what they do best to the Exchange. The Exchange Story The Exchange was born out of countless conversations across more than 80 partners. The Exchange was built to advance critical issues around development like: How do we ensure the best ideas are getting the right resources? How do we ensure that anyone with a good idea can contribute to international development? How do we make it easier to access the resources available? How can we better connect the supply of solutions with the actual demand for them? How can we reduce the duplication of innovations in development? How can the world be better informed of who is working on what, where? How can someone looking for a solutions see all of their options and have the critical performance insight to chose what is right for them? How do we bring the innovations that should be scaled to global attention rapidly? How do we ensure that the conversations and resources about modern development practices are being robustly shared? The Exchange Belief Members of the Global Innovation Exchange believe in the vision to modernize the international development industry through a platform that connects us, and allows each person and organization to do "what they do well" on the Exchange. They also believe that we can only benefit from greater sharing, learning, and coordination. The Exchange is not a replacement for all of the great sites and work across development, in fact you will find many links and information to those great sites! The Exchange acts as a clearinghouse so that information can be easier to find. We want to highlight the great programs, activities, organizations, innovations and conversations that are already occurring and engage more people with them.
