About International Municipal Collaboration

International Municipal Collaboration, icm International Municipal Collaboration The International Municipal Collaboration (IMC) is positioned to support the process of matching cities through Twinning and extending services to all communities of the Diaspora and Africa. The IMC is a virtual community with a database of requisite and tangible resources that allows us to connect to each other for the purpose of strengthening our capacity to build communities and municipalities throughout the Diaspora. This is an improvement over the traditional ceremonial sister-city initiatives. A Steering Committee under the United Nations leadership and in conjunction with IMC and the National Conference of Black Mayors (NCBM); will develop a strategic plan that will frame the network for common interests, goals, opportunities and liabilities of the Diaspora and Africa. This plan will be the blueprint and catalyst to uniting Africa and the Diaspora as sustainable global partners. Tuskegee, Alabama and Benin’s 77 municipalities is the pilot program to this strategic plan. In addition IMC will serve as the framework for the twinning of cities for 15 municipalities in Senegal and 15 municipalities in the United States. Additional municipalities throughout the Diaspora will be added at future dates.
