Cape Verdean American Community Development Agency, CACD Cape Verdean American Community Development Agency What is CACD? The Cape Verdean American Community Development Agency is a 501(c)3 Non-profit Human Service Organization established to provide educational services to immigrant populations. What do we do? Our basic aim is to develop and enrich human personality through group association within the framework of American democratic ideals. We prepare groups of potential new Americans for assimilation and higher education. How we do it? CACD utilizes all of the resources and skills of informal American education together with the cultural/ educational content that is brought to the learning experience by the adults students. Goals: Educate our community. Betterment of our community through collaboration with other organizations. Serve as an information resource to the community. Provide charity relief efforts. Promote and safeguard our Cape Verdean culture and history. Statistical study on the true number of Cape Verdeans in Pawtucket and the state of Rhode Island. Conduct public forum for the entire neighborhood community. Lobby for laws that would clear up the current immigration problems that many Cape Verdeans face. Build a Cape Verdean Community Center.
