About Engaging Diaspora in Development

Engaging Diaspora in Development Engaging Diaspora in Development Simon Fraser University, in partnership with CUSO-VSO and the BC Council for International Education present Engaging Diaspora in Development: Tapping Our Trans-Local Potential for Change. A five-part public dialogue series and collaborative learning program, Engaging Diaspora in Development will engage leaders of diasporic communities across Metro Vancouver. By sharing their stories and examining the impacts of their work both in Canada and throughout the Global South, the series will explore the great and often overlooked potential of diasporic-driven development. In addition to public dialogues covering such topics as poverty reduction, health, education, human security and peace-building, the project will also convene a workshop series—providing a space to share experiences and engage theory and practice with the aim of creating resources and tools that will support the work of diasporic-driven development.
