Although I started the ball rolling, I am sure every Nigerian has taught about doing something for Nigeria one time or the other. However, due to various pressures of life, we put it off for another day. Most Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora dream daily of a perfect country, free of corruption, with working infrastructures, power, water, good roads, secure, and peaceful. It is not enough to just dream about all these things, it is up to us to join hands together to achieve the dream. The objective of this initiative is to secure a vote for each Nigerian in the Diaspora. To achieve this objective, it is my desire that every Nigerian in the Diaspora will rise up and support the initiative. It is also my desire that every Nigerian living at home will also support the initiative. Nigeria belongs to all of us and we need to build it together. This initiative does not seek any monetary contribution from you to support it. All I want is for you to register your support and get your friends and family to do the same. There’s power in numbers and the support of everyone is needed. The population of Nigeria is estimated to be 160 million. All eligible Nigerians living at home can vote in any election. However, 20 million Nigerians living in the Diaspora are unable to vote because the provision and opportunity to vote has not been made available to them With your support, we can help secure the vote for every Nigerian regardless of location. DIASPORA CONTRIBUTION Nigerians in the Diaspora send home over $21 billion every year. This amount is almost 70% of Nigeria’s total budget. So if anyone is wondering what is our contribution to the country? The answer is quite obvious. Besides this financial contribution, we have the burning desire to help in any way we can to contribute to the development of our country. We want to help shape the present and the future of our county, by electing good leaders who can secure the future for our children and grand children in a Nigeria that is progressive and peaceful. We cannot help to elect the good leaders that the country needs unless every one of us is given the opportunity to vote. Therefore, I am appealing to all Nigerians, both at home and abroad to join with me in lobbying our elected representatives to support the bill for the Diaspora vote.
