About Vietnamese Studies Internet Resource Center

Vietnamese Studies Internet Resource Center, Vietnamese diaspora Vietnamese Studies Internet Resource Center Until relatively recently, Vietnamese Studies was largely neglected in the curriculum of Ethnic Studies, Asian Studies, and Asian American Studies Programs in North American Universities. Regardless of this, there is an extensive and growing scholarly literature devoted to the study of Vietnamese culture and the adaptation of Vietnamese immigrants and refugees in diasporic communities across the world. The VSIRC website is intended as a resource base for both scholars and community members interested in the study of Vietnamese culture as well as the adjustment of overseas Vietnamese. Founded in 2001, the VSIRC site is intended to promote respect and understanding for Vietnamese culture as well as raise awareness of the tremendous contributions persons of Vietnamese origin provide to North American society. Contributions to VSIRC (research papers for online posting, research references, and suggested links) may be sent via e-mail to VSIRC's editor, Mark E. Pfeifer PhD.
