It shall therefore strive to work toward improving the existing relations by developing new and mutually beneficial relations and programs of activities in the fields of education ... a. It shall therefore strive to work toward improving the existing relations by developing new and mutually beneficial relations and programs of activities in the fields of education, healthcare, trade and investment, information, culture, and the arts, while exploring new avenues of cooperation. b. The Association is established with the following mission: 1) to unify the efforts of the people of Zanzibar descent residing in the Americas with the people of the host countries in promoting, advancing, and protecting the social, cultural, educational and economic interests of its members and to develop relations and understanding between its members and the people of the host countries. c. The Association is established with the following values: 1) Members of ZADIA shall continually be guided in their decision making as well as in their interactions with others by the core values that include independence, freedom, diversity, non-discrimination, integrity, transparency, openness, and inclusiveness.. d. The Association is established with the following objectives: 1) To unite all members of the Zanzibar Diaspora living in the Americas and to help them maintain connections with their homeland and be a liaison between them and the people of the host countries. 2) To contribute to the strengthening of ties of friendship and cooperation between the people of Zanzibar and those of the host countries 3) To harness the intellectual, financial and human resources of the of the Zanzibar Diaspora and friends of Zanzibar in engaging in both short-term and long-term sustainable projects, for the purpose of improving the livelihood of the people of Zanzibar both at home and in the Diaspora. 4) To bring together members of the Zanzibar Diaspora in the Americas and provide them with a platform to discuss, share, and promote matters of general interest to individual members and the community at large. 5) To provide services to the community and new immigrants on issues such as, immigration, legal services, housing, job search and social services and to help its members and new immigrants in adapting to the host societies. 6) To promote and maintain all cultures of the members of this Association and to enhance the cultural contribution to the multicultural heritage of the Americas. 7) To promote and preserve Zanzibari identity and inculcate the sense of cultural identity among the members. 8) To help create linkages and longer-term cooperative arrangements between individuals and organizations of the host countries and those of Zanzibar. 9) To facilitate the transfer of knowledge and skills acquired from the Diaspora to the homeland and to help in disseminating knowledge and best practices learned in the Diaspora. 10) To help disseminate information and promote the good image of Zanzibar, its people, history and culture. 11) To help focus the efforts of the Zanzibar Diaspora on relief initiatives and similar charitable projects in Zanzibar. 12) To be the collective voice of all members of the Zanzibar Diaspora in the Americas. 13) To encourage philanthropy and to help bring about positive and lasting social and economic change in Zanzibar. 14) To provide a forum and structure within which the members may exchange views and formulate and implement coordinated programs and policies reflecting their common interests and shared concerns.
