Rwandan Youth Information Community Organisation, rYico Rwandan Youth Information Community Organisation (rYico) Rwandan Youth Information Community Organisation (rYico) is a UK registered charity that works to support and empower vulnerable young people in Rwanda. They run the Centre Marembo, a youth resource in Kigali which supports young people who have been orphaned, neglected or left in very difficult conditions for a variety of reasons. RYico also works in the UK to increase social and cultural understanding about Rwanda. The aim of the Centre Marembo is to secure the basic rights of young people and provide a safe environment where young people can access education, training, advice and support.RYico's mission is also to support the development of Centre Marembo, to increase understanding about Rwanda and to challenge perceptions of Rwanda today. Activities: The 'clubs' at Centre Marembo are a forum for young people to connect, share ideas and gain information about topical issues. Many of the youth come from troubled backgrounds and the clubs provide a much-needed forum for them to obtain relevant information that they would not otherwise have access to. The clubs also provide an open space for them to share experiences and find solutions together.The topics discussed focus on 5 main themes: 1) HIV/AIDS, 2) Gender, 3) Environment protection, 4) Anti-genocide, 5) Human rights.
