Liberian Association of Greater Pittsburgh Liberian Association of Greater Pittsburgh The Liberian community is one of the most organized African communities in Pittsburgh, and retains active membership with The Union of African Communities in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County (UAC). The official Liberian Community Organization here is called ?Liberian Association of Greater Pittsburgh? with about 400 community members. The Association strives to act upon the people?s needs, preserve and protect Liberian culture, history and traditions; as well as uphold and defend the fundamental rights and civil liberties of Liberians everywhere. It also aims to cultivate and harness the energies and resources of Liberians to improve the quality of life of all Liberians abroad and advance the cause of constitutional democracy and sustainable national development in the Republic of Liberia. Liberian Community meetings are held once every month, usually the last Sunday at St. Benedict the Moor Church, 91 Crawford Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
