Diaspora Volunteering Alliance Diaspora Volunteering Alliance The Diaspora Volunteering Alliance is the membership body in the UK for Diaspora organisations working in international development and UK community development through volunteering. Aims: 1-To increase the number of Diaspora organisations successfully working in international and national (UK) community development through volunteering. 2-To increase the number of UK Diaspora community members who volunteer in the UK and abroad. 3-To maximise the positive impact of Diaspora volunteering on the lives of disadvantaged groups and individuals both in the countries of origin and within Diaspora communities in the UK in addressing locally relevant issues such as the Millennium Development Goals, community engagement and inclusion. 4-To advocate, campaign and raise awareness on issues affecting Diaspora volunteering in order to influence policy, programmes, partnerships and resource allocations. 5-To share best practice in programme and resource management and facilitate partnerships between Diaspora organisations and with other development actors.
