DiasporaEngager is commited to allowing its users to create and/or join groups that meet their needs. Group is a great way to connect and exchange with other users. Group will allow you to get involved in activities that members of your areas of interest are doing. You can create a new group to discuss and collaborate with others that share the same things.

For instance, you can create a group of a diaspora based on your country of origin, country of residence, and a special interest. If you are from Benin and you are living in the US, you can for instance create a group called “Diaspora of people from Benin living in the US”. You can name your group whatever you want. However, before creating a new group, we advise you to search in our group directory first in order to ensure that a similar group does not exist yet. By avoiding to create multiple groups related to same interest or country, you will help the other users you are trying to reach focus and not dilute their efforts on many similar groups.

1. To create a new group, just click on the menu “Group” and follow the steps.

2. During the process, you will need to enter things like “name of the group, description of the group”.

3. You can invite others to join your group or any other groups that may interest them.

4. You can also join DiasporaEngager Media communities (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Blog) to learn about more opportunities and keep the conversation going and find new opportunities.
