Description: Diaspora for African Development (DfAD) is a UK registered Diaspora led non profit organisation whose aim is to contribute to Africa’s sustainable social and economic development through harnessing the potential of the African Diaspora for development. DfAD believes that African Diaspora’s contribution as agents of Africa’s socioeconomic change should not be measured merely in financial terms, but as inputs of skilled labour and by its ability to build bridges between countries of origin and destination which help stimulate not only economic activity, but transfers of knowledge and cultural and social norms. Therefore, DfAD does not only seek to engage, unveil and boost the capacity of the African Diaspora, but also to establish a database of key stakeholders in Africa’s development. Thus, skills, expertise and assets will be transferred to Africa, while strong connections will be forged between the African Diaspora and local development organisations.
