Description: Design and implement Diaspora-led investment initiatives and public/private/civil society partnerships in development projects. SUMMARY OF RESOLUTIONS AND ACTION PLANS Deliverables for Immediate Implementation 1. Diaspora voting will be done in regional centres across the Diaspora, and not in embassies. 2. Manufacturing Plant s in every county with the first pilot to be established within one year. 3. Home Link Services for Kenyans Abroad to be established within one month 4. Diaspora Co-operative to be established within one month. 5. Kenyan Diaspora-owned Money Transfer Service to be established-to reduce exorbitant cost of remittances. It was estimated that Kenyans in the Diaspora spends at least 800 million shillings in remittance fee alone (10% of Ksh. 8 billion we remit per month). If we can reduce the remittance fee by half, we can then save Ksh.400 million shillings ($5 million) per month to inject into manufacturing and other wealth-creating investments. We can cooperatively own the money transfer service so that whatever surplus still circulate back to us. The framework for the establishment of Kenyan Diaspora owned Money Transfer Service should be ready within one month. 6. Diaspora Public Affairs Committee (DPAC) to conduct civic education and promote voter awareness. 7. The Europe Version of the Diaspora Summit to be held in Europe in late summer.
