Description: A young Ghanaian girlGhanaian Welfare Association is a community based organisation set up to support Ghanaians in the UK particularly those living in North London (London Boroughs of Haringey, Enfield, Barnet and Waltham Forest) The need for this organisation come about as a result of research carried out by Amco a Recruitment and Training company which concluded that most Ghanaians (especially recent arrivals) who were seeking employment through its services lack skills in areas such as interview technique, ICT, Basic English Language (spoken and written) and other areas that would help them adjust to their new environment and access other mainstream services. Ghanaian Welfare Association was formed as a company limited by guarantee (and is in the process of registering as a charity) to meet the needs of those recent arrivals as well as those members of the Ghanaian community that may require our support. Mission: Smiling Ghanaian WomanGHAWEA's mission is to improve the quality of life of members of the Ghanaian community in London especially those living in the North of London by providing support to help them integrate into their new environment and become socially and economically active and sustainable. VISION: To provide the best service we can to the benefit of our community. To create, through positive support, a vibrant and inclusive community that is proud of its origin and the society in which it lives.
