Description: CAMAM’s mission is to advocate for private sector development in Cameroon, particularly through promoting active engagement from members of the diaspora in the United States. The Chamber works to strengthen civil society participation, promote sustainable development programs, intensify international cooperation, improve knowledge sharing, and promote initiatives which can lead to more inclusive economic growth. CAMAM currently boasts a membership of over 60 companies, organizations and individuals. We distinguish ourselves from others in a number of ways, including: Having a dual presence in the United States and Cameroon, which allows us to better coordinate development activities with businesses and individuals in both contexts; Membership is available to individuals, corporations, and organizations of all sizes, as long as these members respect the core values of the Chamber (transparency, ethics, sustainability); We are a non-political and independent organization. This allows us to provide unbiased, objective, and timely information to both members and non-members; While the Chamber encourages private-public dialogue and cooperation, its main objective is to promote private sector driven initiatives. In addition, the Chamber works to strengthen civil society participation while promoting sustainable development programs in Cameroon and the United States. Our services include the provision of support and technical assistance to those interested in fostering trade, educational exchanges, tourism, and cooperation between Cameroon and the United States. Our core values are reflected in our strong commitment to promoting development initiatives that are ethical, transparent, and sustainable.
