Description: Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Compassion is global, reflecting the beautiful diversity of God's kingdom. Compassion is respectful, protecting the divine character in everyone. Our faith in God and in His promises empowers us to be confident. In the face of evil raging around us, we remain hopeful as we go about our mission of releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name. Our History What started as one man’s act of compassion for South Korean war orphans in 1952 has transformed into a worldwide ministry that is releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Our Leadership Principles We aspire to be more like our Savior, Jesus Christ, in who we are and what we do. We commit to these leadership principles in ever-increasing measure. What's the Meaning Behind Our Blue Corner? We want to communicate our brand in a global visual language, above and beyond our logo, that is not hindered by language or other cultural barriers. The Poverty Wheel The poverty wheel is a graphic representation of poverty. The hub represents absolute poverty. The spokes represent the different needs of those in poverty. The rim represents enough. We work to bring children from the hub (poverty) to the rim (enough).
